Not bad but I think in the event that Z doesn't play this year, the center depth will be Larkin, Nielsen, Helm, LGD. I don't see AA as being an NHL center. His defensive acumen just isn't there. Would be nice if he could turn it around though. Also, I think Helm as a consistent center for a year would increase his value in a trade situation.

Very good point. I put AA there bc like you said, it’d be nice for him to develop into a 2nd or 3rd line center. If not I see us packaging him and possibly svechnikov in a deal for Justin Faulk.
Both helm and AA excelled playing on a line w Nielsen and vanek so they could definitely be switched.

This is a loophole that other NHL teams have exploited through this CBA. Pronger, Horton, Lupel, Hossa, Franzen, there are lots of examples out there. Basically, if the player is not cleared to play medically, then it is not a circumvention. Yes, Zetterberg and Detroit exploited the last CBA and signed to a contract term they both knew he would not play out. However, the league investigates LTIR cases very thoroughly and checks if a player cannot medically play anymore.

Yes, so if he is healthy he will play out the contract, otherwise it will be cap circumvention, which Detroit will not do in this case. He has a known issue with his back, he had surgery 3 years ago. It came out at the end of the year that he didn't really practice for the last half of the last year, and there have been rumors floating around that he may not be back as early as this year.

IF Z retires and both kids make it, this looks about right (though I am one of those who is adamant that AA can't be put at center). TWO kids coming straight form junior is unheard of in Detroit, but it is a new era, perhaps it would be for the best.

An AA trade might be good as well, for some D help, here's hoping.

How do you know he's totally healthy? He's had an ailing back for decades. You're not his Dr you don't know he's totally healthy.

Except Zetterberg is completely healthy and played 82 games last year. So yeah no concussions there.

Actually could you be more of a Wings homer it’s incredible.

Dude stop saying that Zetterberg is totally health, You don't know that to be fact. He had major surgery about 4 years ago on his back. How do you know it hasn't flared up? Like i said are you his Dr.

Yeah and you don’t know any better than I do. You too are not his doctor. All I’m saying is that if he does go on LTIR the NHL should heavily investigate. But they won’t bc the NHL blows.

Never said i did, But you're making accusations that you have no proof of saying that he's totally healthy. You're making a ignorant statement there.
