JT chooses to sign with the tax haven and perennially contending Lightning. But in order to fit him in Yzerman and Benning make a hockey trade that benefits both teams;

For Tampa, they get a huge amount of cap space for the next two years and beyond, a high-end defensive Dman at a low cap hit, a good depth winger, and a couple mid-level prospects.

For Van, they get a 2nd line center with term plus a high-end Dman prospect for the favor of taking on Callahan's contract.
