I can see Gropp making the jump towards the end of the year, can replace grabner if grabner feels salty abt the deadline last year. He can score goals when put with good linemates (in junior he had barzal and put up great numbers) but isn't the best at driving play. He's improved a lot at his two way game the past few years (he was on a horrible hartford team last year hence the horrid plus minus, still put up 14 goals and 7 assists his first 59 games in his first pro season). Big body at 6'2" 190.
for dallas deal: we drafted a lot of defenseman with upside the past few years. We can easily include one of day, hajek, lindgren in to help the deal out if it's deemed "unfair". Miro has a lot of potential and i understand that, that's why i included a 2nd line center and another roster player. Dallas is in a win now mode with benn and seguin in their prime. If dallas wanted to throw in spezza as a cap dump, willing to do that.
for both deals: considered switching zucc and namestnikov in the deals, with retaining 2 mill on zucc going to tampa, and adding a 2019 2nd round pick going to dallas with namesnikov. Open for evaluation, will adjust if necessary.
