I can't see Pittsburgh giving up Derrick Brassard whom they paid dearly for, for a second rounder and Daniel Carr. Carr is not yet an NHL regular at 26 years old. And Brassard only carries a $3M cap hit for them for a 21-goal, 46-point center.
Brassard is a good player and that is why you want him, but Pittsburgh thinks he's good too and they can afford him.
Also, why would a guy who can't make the NHL plus a 4th rounder get us an established NHL defender? If you think TVR is good, why does Carolina not agree?
