Description
I could see Columbus wanting more for Panarin. You may have to substitute Kostin for Blais. It would be a steal to get out with what I have listed which is why I have a 1st and 2nd going to them as well.

I'd expect Panarin to be extended after the market value is set for wingers mid-July.

You could also substitute Duchene for Panarin as well since Ottawa would be more interested in taking cap-hit players like Sobotka and Gunnarsson. But I think there is a connection between Panarin and Tarasenko that would better serve that team.

Tavares would be a better option that ROR since it is a Free Agency acquisition and you wouldn't have to give up picks/prospects. The Blues would have the cap space for it. However, you have to sell Tavares on the team and lifestyle which will be difficult. I am assuming Tavares stays with NYI or signs with SJS as they seem to be the best fit in my opinion

A lot of folks are keen to move Berglund. I am less interested in doing so. I find him and Sobotka both could move but Berglund has always been responsible for stabilizing our rookies and prospects while they acclimate to the NHL. I think he is a little more valuable but with the cap hit I would think a 2nd and a 2nd or 3rd tier prospect would be sufficient. Although, you'd typically find a GM that would pay more (see Reaves trade).

I view him as a solid player. His salary isn't crazy. I'm not a big fan of his term. A lot of folks seem to view him as garbage and would trade him for nothing.

He's streaky and you could see a situation where he really improves a team he goes to. Term isn't great but at the rate in which the cap is rising his hit becomes less and less to worry about in terms of relative production. You could make the case where he'd have more value that Sobotka especially since he can play at center if needed.

What's your opinion of him at center? He seems to be strong on the puck. Not as physical as you might like for his size. Skates okay wish he'd be a bit faster.

He can play center well enough to be considered a 3rd line center on about half of the current NHL teams. I like him better at wing because I believe he plays better when he doesn't have to be responsible for moving the puck. I think you would see better offensive production from him as a winger and he can forecheck more which would take advantage of his size. He'd be interesting to see coupled with Thomas in my opinion. It also gives Thomas a chance to learn the speed of the NHL without having as much pressure as Berglund is good for covering defensively and supporting.
