I think $12M minimum is probably more realistic - nobody can afford Tavares at $13M while having a competitive that he would actually want to play for.

The Boedker trade the Sharks GM made today was pretty good added a bunch of picks after flipping Hoffman and saved a bunch of cap space actually making it possible to sign Tavares. Would be a huge win for them if they pull it off.

I don't see how Tavares at ages 27-34 is worth as much or more than McDavid at ages 21-29
