If you added a 2018 2nd on Washington's side (2nd versus 3rd because they are the 31st pick each round) then you'd have something worth talking about. Since Washington is looking to dump Grubaer because they have Samsonov waiting in the wings, and due to Fox's massive potential I think it would be a coup for Washington, but also beneficial to the Flames. Since the Flames have multiple near-ready D lined up in addition to Fox it could work.

Caps would just want Fox (assuming they felt comfortable he'd sign with them), they aren't taking Stone since they're dealing with a cap crunch, and Rittich is basically worthless. If not a really good prospect, Caps will want draft picks in return.

So you are saying Fox and a 2nd would work? I think Fox would sign with an eastern team as long as there is a spot.

I think there are going to be quite a few teams inquiring about Grubauer. Especially NY Islanders. They need to get rid of him yes, but will not be giving him away. I think Stone could be traded for a 2nd as I think he is a top 4 D and not sure why we signed him when we got Hamonic....

Yes, likely Grubaer goes to NYI unless Washington is concerned about trading him to a division rival.
