Draft Zadina and let him return to Halifax - Another hard season

Créé par: Lehoulx
Équipe: 2018-19 Canadiens de Montréal
Date de création initiale: 5 juin 2018
Publié: 5 juin 2018
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Halifax host the memorial cup next year
Gives Scherbak his final oportunity to step-up in the big league and Chucky last chance to showcase his Center ability. Will also see what Reilly and Mete can bring to the table while filling a spot bigger than what they should cover.

Next season Poehling and Zadina will break the line up and we will be back on track.

Couple things:

1. Habs still don't have their Number #1 centre. After 6 seasons, it's pretty clear that Galchenyuk is better on the wing. Don't be Naive.
2. Pacioretty won't get you 2 first round picks!

Still a lot of work ahead.....

Absolutely correct, I just don’t understand what Habs fans don’t get. They are not going to get a 1st rounder pick nor a top prospect (ie Borgstrom Tippett Heponiemi etc) in exchange for Patches, he is a convenience not a necessity

I compare patches to Spezza in OTT, who statistically had a better career than Patches. He got trade around the same time in his career to Dallas. The Sens fans expected the world in return but only got a 2nd and a couple B prospects (which didn't pan out). Sucks but that's the reality. GMs are not giving up their farm team for him. I honestly think that the Habs are better off just keeping him.

guy's be honest...don't be a Habhatter!
What BOS give for few month of 33 yo Nash? Spooner, 1st + D Lindgren & Beleskey
Team who look at the big picture will give this easily for a 29yo, 5 year 30G scorer.
FAIR= make your choice!!! cool
NYR: 1st + Namesnikov & Vessey?
Fla= Borgs + 1st?
LA= Anderson-Dolan + 1st?
NJ= Zacha + 1st
NYI= Ho-Sang+ 1st
EDM= Yamamoto+ 1st

Not hating on the Habs, just be real. That’s what they have been requesting and Tallon has already said No.

Overvaluing picks. The chance that a player picked between 11-15 has a successful career(using successful very loosely) is 65%. The chances that player is as good as Pacioretty drops further down to around 10-20%. If Florida can get patches on at 6mil per year (6 mil in Florida is equal to 7.75 in MTL) then they should have definite interest in Pacioretty. This first round pick we are discussing is a mid round pick, not a high first.

Plus Borgstrom or Tippett or Heponiemi which again Tallon said no to. The most Habs can expect is Bjugstad, Petrovic, and a conditional 3rd that turns into a 2nd if Patches resigns.

Yes, he would be a convenient addition but not a necessary one. We can use are young core and make the playoffs. Then sign him next off season without giving up any high assets.

Because they are desperate to win now and don’t care if it’s short term success or not.
