Description
Toronto Trade: Pretty simple, Canucks Get the 25th pick and the leafs get their needed defensive defensmen.

Anahiem:Explained

Chicago:The Blackhawks arnt supposed to be picking 8th overall after winning the central division last season, With crawford out and Scott Foster not bailing them out every night they'll need a prominant backup who can play well with good D in front of him. Hutton has some upside... Just not with Vancouver. Leipsic and Baertschi can play prominant Middle to top 6 roles if needed.
With Chicago adding these assets i hope they'd be willing to give him 8th overall.

Bozak Replaces Sutters shutdown role and adds more scoring. Stastny canucks need for a 2nd line center which we don't have with henrik gone. JVR may not fit here but he has good Chemistry with Bozak and is killer on the PP which the canucks will lack once again, with the twins gone.

Not sure what else theyll need todo or want todo with 15.5M in cap..

Since Kesler is out for most if not the entire of next season Anahiem has called the canucks about sutter for their shutdown guy. Wouldn't be surprised if they offer this much for him since they're in need,

If Vancouver can fleese the Leafs of a 1st round pick for Tanev it would bring a smile to my face. I don't get it wih Tanev, why do leafs fans need this guy, maybe a Canucks fan can show me the value of this guy. As far as i can see, over the past three season the guy has missed 82 games with injuries, has cracked the 20 pt plateau once in 6 seasons in NHL, wasn't drafted and has 2yrs at 4.45 mil.

Leafs are really high on him because he’s a defensive defenseman, the leafs have a lot of offense on their blue line but always leave Andersen out to dry, tanev blocks shots and doesn’t pinch and is a smart player at his value. If the leafs want him JB said that would be his value

If you don't understand the value in a player like Chris Tanev, I'm not sure anyone could really explain it to you. Yes, he's certainly been injury-prone to a degree & no, he's not an offensive threat but the fact he was undrafted is completely irrelevant.
His game is about shot suppression, something the Leafs do in fact need, as they were 4th worst in the league in shots allowed per game. On many nights, they were bailed out by Andersen, something that perennially good teams don't rely on.
