Don’t forget about Resigning Couture the next year

As a BUF fan, I would be interested in taking Boedker for a late pick.

I'm not too worried about Couture. He'll get some of Jumbo's money as I think he's done after this year, or if coming back is on a $1M a year deal. Logan signs for around $7.5M. I'm more concerned that Meier, Labanc, Ryan, and Donskoi will need raises, plus will possibly need to add a 7th defenseman.

Yeah BUF was a place I looked at for that Boedker trade. To make this roster work though I had to send Martin away too. DET could use a player like Boedker and is also known for giving aging vets one more go. DET also has two 3rds in 2019, so it seemed like a better match. Doubt this trade would ever really happen, it was more a quick fix to get that cap space off the books.
