Max Pacioretty can't sign an extension until July 1st. The Draft is a week or so before this. So this sign and trade can't happen in time to get those picks.

yea, I can read. it's the lack of understanding of trade value that is so annoying. Isles or Florida can just wait and sign Max or another UFA and keep their valuable picks. somehow Montreal fans are obsessed with trading a one year rental, but would if similar trade was reversed....Montreal giving valuable young assets the trade would be bashed by Montreal fans.
if that's the best Montreal has to offer in a trade, a non realistic sign and trade, then the Habs will never trade this season
