Actually, he might. I think that the new GM will want to recreated the dynamic duo that Zadina and Necas were at the WJC. The difference between Svech and Zad isn't that big. Furthermore, the canes doesn't have a great historic with the Russian players. Considering the fact they were supposed to draft at the 11-12th rank, they will certainly consider the option to go with the greatest option for the organisation (the Necas/Zadina duo could be really exciting to watch and has the potential to bring more people into the arena) than for the best player available.
