Malone has a lot of developing to do still, and I don't think Hanafin is on the table from CAR. Reinhart has never succeeded at center and Mittelstadt is most assuredly going to be a 2c worst case scenario (next year). Nelson and Wilson are overpaid, and Hutton is going to cash in this offseason, desperate teams will give him a starting job and contract

I think Malone will have a shot at 4th line C next year, Botts has raved about him. CAR has said they need to make a change this off season. I feel like they'd want to move one of their young D like Slavin, Pesce or Hanifin for a top 6 center to get better depth than Staal/Rask. I'd like to see Reinhart be given one more shot at center, haven't seen him there since his second half resurgence. If it doesn't work switch him with Casey. Wilson played top 6 most of the szn with the Sabres most of the szn. Although that's way too high for him I doubt he takes less than 1m so whatever. Nelson is a UFA, you're going to have to overpay for him a little bit.
