I get it, rfa compensation is complicated, but they average it out by the lesser of 5 years or the contract length. If seven years, they take the entire contract's value (54.25 mil) divide it by 5 years so they AAV would be 10.85 mil. At this point the compensation would be 4 first round picks. Which isn't worth it for stone.

Schneider has a NTC, is more expensive, and has worse numbers than Raanta this year. Why would Schneider waive? Why would the Coyotes give up Max Domi and his cost controlled years to get a more expensive goalie with worse stats who is unfamiliar with the system?
