Leafs can use help stabilizing D on right side.
Seems like a great match?

Leafs can trade these pieces cause none are long term plans and Philly gives up Simmonds to get out from under Gudas contract... (sorta)

The Gudas trade is the make sense. The Hjalmarsson trade is a why not?

    Now before I get comments on it...
    yes I'm trading JVR back to Philly
    Yes I have Simmonds on the 3rd and he's currently injured
    Yes I don't even have Gudas playing
    BUT
    I didn't realize till after I published that it was JVR back to Philly
    This is my playoff roster and he's back by then.
    What's a better rotation? Gudas, Borgman and Hainsey OR Carrick, Polak, Borgman??
    I go with the non Polak option every time

    It would be amazing for the Leafs to get Simmonds.
    He would bring size, skill, and toughness to the front lines that we are lacking.
    However the price would be too high, and I doubt if they'd want a rental (JVR) for him.
    I like the creativity though.

    Well I wouldn't mind adding if needed. Maybe switching JVR for an Aaltonen maybe?
