Offseason after Hoffman Trade

Description
This is based off the rumored Hoffman for Fabbri/Berglund/Sobotka trade. I know I'll upset some people by not signing Tavares even though we'd have the cap space to do so, but let me explain. I think it's more beneficial to the team to have a strong top six rather than a killer 1st line with little support. Re-sign Stastny for 3 years to give Thomas time to develop into a 2nd line center and shore up the right side by adding Hornqvist. As for Gunnarsson, Buffalo is just a placeholder team. I don't know what the market would be for him, but I figured a team like Buffalo might spend a 3rd round pick on a veteran bottom-pairing D on a fairly team friendly deal.

I'd rather sign Thorton than Stastny. Guy is a solid player, but we haven't done anything with him. Time to move on.
Besides, you say it's better to have a strong top 6 rather than a killer first line. If you sign Tavares you have Hoffman and Tavares on one line, Schwartz-Schenn-Tarasenko on the other. You could always move Kyrou to the right side next to them. How much stronger do you want? The 2nd line shown above isn't stronger than that.

Thornton is trash and hated by 90% of the blues fan base.

Kyrou has never played an NHL game. There’s a pretty decent chance he’s Ty Rattie 2.0.
