As budget sensitive as we all know Ottawa to be, I feel like if they did this they would just do Phaneuf for Gaborik and then buy him out, wouldn't they? Or is there some over 35 rule I don't know about with buyouts...

Don't think Gaborik would hurt Sens. He's old&injury prone, but would be a hidden threat on the 3rd line. Also help the pp a bit at least. The key to the trade is Peterson, new young goalie with ahl experience. McDermid is a young Methot wanna be clone type. Sens need a tough guy, or 2..-~
