Tavares could easily command around either $12 million to $13 million per, And what's this Hanifin trade get real Ron Francis is said to want either an elite scorer or a future #1C for Hanifin and you don't provide either and no way is Hanifin signing for that low he's probably getting close to $5.5 million per for about 5 years or so.

This is the price for a defense like him, anybody who thinks he is worth more is kidding themselves

    Also False

It is called a bridge deal

Trouba did it for 2.8 million because he was an RFA and had no other choice

u do know trouba had to go to arbitration to negotiate a bridge deal. and hanifin is top 10 pick. he is only 21, and already an nhl allstar. 2 depth players and a pick wont cut it. defensemen are worth a lot in todays nhl.

Trouba put himself in a bad situation asking for a trade he wasn't going to get, Reportedly Chevy offered him a 5 year deal at $5.5 million per and he said no so don't use Trouba as a comparable on Hanifin. Hanifin will easily get 5 years at what Chevy was offering Trouba no way do i see Francis giving one of his best young D men guys a bridge deal.

Kapanen is a top prospect......saying he is a depth player shows how much you know about players around the league so thats not a good start on your credability

Hamilton was a top 10 pick too...............either way it does not matter. Its what they do after they are drafted and Hamilton was extremely similar to Hanfin at his age.

    .....................................

Trouba was an RFA.............that is the reason he could not get a long term deal. WNP was not going to give it to him

look at how that trade worked out for the bruins lmao. and kapenen has played like 25 games in the nhl, and has scored only 3 goals. ur really thinking that carolina would be interested in him? if carolina were to ever move hanifin, it would be for a top 6 center. they have some very good wingers coming up with gautheir. thye dont need another depth winger

kapanen has 3 points in 3.5 years after he was drafted. he is among the least accomplished of anyone in the first round of a crappy draft.

Wrong it's been widely reported by Darren Dreger that Chevy was going to offer Jacob Trouba 5 years $27.5 million but Trouba didn't want the long term deal so soon as he said he wanted to prove himself more plus wasn't wanting to commit long term with Winnipeg as it was looking like he was wanting out of Winnipeg.

He is number 15 in the entire NHL on Pronmans prospect rankings.

38 players from the 2014 draft have as many or more points than him
29 players from the 2015 draft have as many or more points than him
16 players from the 2016 draft have as many or more points than him
3 players from the 2017 draft have as many or more points than him

At this point he is nothing more than an AHL player. a 1st rounder who cant crack the lineup in his 4th year after being drafted is in danger of being a bust.

a PPG player in the AHL,21

The Leafs are overloaded with forward talent he has not gotten a chance.

If you want proof read prospect rankings from people who actually watch the the players instead of going on Hockeydb.

Seth Griffith was a ppg player in the AHL for the marlies, so was rychel, so was tj brennan. doesnt mean ****

a prospect being blocked by matt martin, leo komorov etc is not elite.

    get. over. it.

if he was such a great and valuable prospect as u claim he is, why wasn't he taken higher in the draft. and my friends whom commented below, kind of proved who really has his head in his ass. im not saying he is complete crap, but there are players in the ahl right now, whom were drafted 2-3 spots after him, and are much higher then a point per game in the american league, and look to be very good nhlers. kapenen is an above average ahler, but in the nhl, he hasn't shown anything. the biggest knock about him in his draft year was skating and defensive game. that still seems to be the issue

    The Hockey writers?? Okay lol

They have Grundstrom ahead of him, He barely cracks the Leafs top 5. Next.

Pronman is one of the few credible prospect rankers who actually in depth watch each and every prospect individually. He has him at 15 in the most recent prospect ranking, Move along

Okay. Now I know you are talking out of your ass....

Kapanen is the best skater on the Leafs. No question whatsoever, he beats out Matthews, Marleau, Nylander, Marner no question in that regard. It has never been an issue so I have no idea what you are talking about.

And the second completely wrong thing you said. His defensive game is good. When he is called up he plays the PK regular and is not a liability whatsoever 5v5. He hasn't had a line mate other than Matt Martin, the Goat or Moore. Yet he is still able to create chances off his speed.

You lost all credibility right there, It shows you have no knowledge whatsoever about the player.
