Honestly, Blue’s don’t need Hoffman. Even though we won’t be able to call up Kyrou until next season, he’ll provide the same exact play as Hoffman for a fraction of the price. Blues need to focus on getting an elite center

He'll provide 55-60 points right away? I like Kyrou, but I doubt that. Additionally, Thomas has more all around potential and plays a position more needed. Not a whole lot of elite centers laying around...

Kyrou has played 0 games in the NHL there is no way you can say he will give you the exact same play as Hoffman a guy who has scored around 25 goals or more in 3 of his 4 seasons in the NHL.
Prospects are never guaranteed unless they are Mcdavids/Matthews and usually like top 5 picks.
Plus there simply is not room for all of the prospects we have coming up so why not get an almost sure thing with 25 goals to give up 1 prospect?

I like the trade a lot.

It's easy for St. Louis to like the trade, since there's essentially no value being sent to OTT. That pick needs to be a first, and I don't know that OTT would want 2019's (or if STL would be willing to trade it). Throw in a defense prospect and you're a little closer.
