If Boston is willing to part with that package, Blues offer Schenn for the same deal. Schenn is an east coast guy, so there's probably a good chance he re-signs, plus the acquiring team has him for an extra year. He's about the same age with a tad better production than Hayes. Blues would retain salary too if that were the offer and might add a pick. Boston has trouble saying "no" I'd argue.

Schenn: 10-14-24 (-7), $5.125 M cap hit '19-'21

Hayes: 10-23-33 (+6), $5.175 M cap hit '19

By the way, the Saskatoon born Schenn would disagree with being an "East coast" guy.

I say "east coast guy" from an interview he had where he said he "enjoys playing on the east coast." I agree, Saskatoon isn't anywhere near the coast. I admit that was confusing.

Also, you are comparing this year to this year. That is fair. I was comparing careers.
