TEAM EXPLANATION:
Point gets his big boy contract to become the 2C long-term. Since Gourde got 5 mil per, I'll give Point a couple mil more.
Killorn gets moved to Buffalo after waiving his NTC for more playing time with another contender. Buffalo takes him in as an option for a middle 6 forward with Pominville aging and Okposo regressing. Tampa gets the rights to Rodrigues, who can fill a bottom 6 spot and a pick. This move is very much motivated by cap space, and Buffalo, despite being a division rival, has the space and need for a decent winger, becomes my choice to take on Killorn and his contract. His playoff experience with Tampa could also prove beneficial for a Sabres team with several young players yet to experience playoff hockey.
Now for the Faulk trade. My buddy wanted me to get Doughty, but the cap kills any chance of that happening, even in a fantasy world, unless key young players like Point are shipped out. Instead, I went for Faulk, a solid RHD to slot next to Hedman, replacing Stralman. In exchange, CAR gets Erne, a power forward who has the potential to become a decent forward and has become an NHL regular. They also get another decent forward prospect in Raddysh, although he will likely need another year or two before he's NHL ready. Some picks sweeten the deal for CAR just a touch. CAR can also sign a replacement top 4 RHD like Trouba should they decide to keep Haydn Fleury on the bottom pair. Faulk should be willing to make the move to a contending team like Tampa.
Once again, a big contract has to be moved, and this time it's Callahan. Callahan is a good, though massively overpaid penalty killer, and Philly currently has one of the worst PKs in the league. Tampa pays them to take a bad contract for a year, with several bad contracts off the books, including Lehtera. Even with Callahan, PHI should still have no problems resigning Provorov and bringing in a goaltender such as Bobrovsky or Varlamov, while Stolarz can take the backup spot. Overall, Callahan helps improve their PK for the season while not preventing any key players from being re-signed, while also supplying plenty of leadership and playoff experience. PHI gets a pick to sweeten the deal for them.
Garnet Hathaway gets signed in FA to take Callahan's roster spot in Tampa. Chad Ruhwedel provides some defensive depth with playoff experience and a ring.
Paquette returns to continue operating on one of the best PKS in the league.
Bitetto and Martinsen round out the scratches.
Sabres dont need a winger, with Nylander and Smith still waiting for a shot and Makar still coming up, they need a #2 center, that said Larsson instead of Rodrigues then Sabres take it. Player/coach/gm Eichel wont want Rodrigues to leave

Seems fair. I don't know the Sabres prospects super well so I was just trying to replace Pominville. Larsson would work fine, I was just getting an affordable depth guy.
