1) Sign the RFA's to deals - these might be heavy, might be light, there is cap space to pay more if necessary.
2) Trade Stone to Ottawa for Smith. Both players have been rumoured to be of interest by both teams, salaries are similar, why not? Flames need to move a body on D and need a forward in return to help out the bottom six.
3) Promote Andersson, Kylington and Mangiapane and waive Lazar
4) Buy out Brouwer - not out of any malice or need of cap space, because we need the roster spot
5) Sign Ryan and Grabner. More right wing depth, more depth scoring, both fit in the middle six, allowing Frolik to be the defensive presence Bennett and Jankowski need as they bleed shots against.
Result is a much stronger bottom six, a better top six, and a lot of cap space to add something else if its available. (JVR?) With any luck, the added value on the right and the bottom results in a team that can compete better than last year.
