Description
I'll start with the trades. San Jose needs centers as they want to move Pavelski back to wing and Anisimov would be a solid fit for a 2c/3c role for them. I don't love Boedker at 4 mil, but if theyre willing to eat some salary I would throw a pick in their as Anisimov is a far more superior player. Boedker adds a speed element to the Hawks that they can use and can be a solid depth player at 2.5 mil.

I know at the moment Carolina is trying to get the Hawks to give up Saad but I don't see them selling low on Saad and the price will eventually go down. They get Rutta back for a year while some of their prospects get some more development time, Hossas contract to help them get to the cap floor and a forward that can become something special but doesn't really have a spot on the Hawks right now. Also, a first round pick. Hossas money is being moved somewhere this summer, and it may not necessarily be to Carolina, but its not going to be on the Hawks books this year.

Signings---
Bowman HAS to make a big move this year, and obviously upgrading the D is one, but I also think he will be aggressive in FA. JVR is a perfect fit for Kane and Schmaltz as they play their finese game and he clears way for then. The Hawks have been linked to him for the entire beginning of the summer and I see that happening way before I see Tavares coming here.

Cole is solid defensively which is something the Hawks desperately missed with the departure of Hjammer and I think he can be a solid cheaper option.

Wingels said he wants to come back, so I think that explains the signing enough.

Beagle is a solid depth center. He can win face-offs like the best in the league and the Hawks need that down the middle. The got dominated on that area all year.

I'm a Hawks Fan and I would laugh if was the canes. No teams want our crap like duclair, ruts, etc. Remember there is a reason why we want to trade them. Also, why do ppl think teams need Hossa contract to reach the cap floor? No team is in danger of not getting to the cap floor. If it was that easy to off load Hossa contract, don't u think Blowman would have done so already? Granted he's a crap GM, but still.

No team is in danger of not reaching the cap floor? You sure about that? At 78M cap, the floor should be 62M...that's with 0% from the players.... the cap floor should actually go up more than the cap ceiling because the ceiling had been artificially inflated... the floor was 55.5M last year but that wasn't based on 75M....which included a 2.5% escalator from the nhlpa.... there are multiple teams that will have a hard time hitting 62M, including the avalanche who have just about a full roster at 53M....

Tbf Colorado is as you stated at 53 mil as it is shown today with no further additions. But, do you honestly see them them needing a Hossa type contract? They will most likely spend in the UFA market for a backup goalie, defense, and one or 2 forwards. I don't see them having an issue making the floor.
What other teams? Not Carolina with the key rfa's they have to resign. Again my point is what team would be willing to eat hossa's contract for nothing as some of these trade proposals seem to assume?

Well for nothing, no. Anyway it's not about the cap floor.... if you aren't in danger of getting anywhere near the cap ceiling then why wouldn't you spend a million a year to move up in the first 3 rounds or get a free draft pick.
