    Caps have no need for Gunnarsson. They are loaded on LHD. Even if they did make that trade STL would have to throw in more.

    Absolutely not from Stl. Hoffman and Karlsson won't come cheap, but I wouldn't trade Thomas for Hoffman in an even swap. While Karlsson is elite, his contract status diminishes his value. No way StL parts with their core youth to bring in those two.
    Swap out Thompson for Thomas, and drop Walman from the conversation, and we might have the basis for a good hockey trade--though Ottowa would almost certainly reject that offer.

    If I'm giving up Parayko, I'd prefer it be for Draisatl. And while Karlsson is an amazing talent, we already have one skilled defenseman who gets manhandled with ease. I'd rather acquire a crease clearer with some attitude--a Nurse or a Mayfield.
