My thoughts on this offseasons moves.

Anti Rannta walks from ARI, which means Mrazek gets a chance to start and Flyers can ship out Letherä too.

Washington frees up 2 million in caproom by moving Orpik to us without having to give up much in terms of assets. They get back MacDonald who is a semi-capable bottom line veteran.

Montreal takes Weise and gives up McCarron and some picks for Martel and Leier. The Flyers get McCaron and Crouse to be big physical bottom liners, that can also help on the penalty kill.

Neuvirth goes to Boston to backup Tukka, Khubodin leaves in free agency. Flyers let Stolarz and Lyon fight for backup with loser going to the AHL and splitting time with Hart. Sandstorm is loaned back to SHL unless he really impresses, so Flyers trade the loser of the Lyon/Stolarz battle.

The last trade is just typical Hexy trying to pick up more picks for assets that won’t break the lineup. Mosulson also adds more toughness to the lineup when he makes the rare appearance.

Sbisa provides another right handed shot and when he gets hurt Morin / Orpik can take over for him.
The Flyers will probably end up using at least 8 D men over the course of the season but I wouldn’t be surprised if one starts in the AHL, probably Morin. In a similar vane it wouldn’t be surprising if the Flyers buried Moulson.

Speacial teams are more balanced with the addition of Vecchione and Crouse. Couturier can play there if needed, and simmonds as well but we have the depth for them to only need to occasionally.
