Hawks trade Anisimov and all UFAs to contenders for draft picks. Anisimov is expendable because of Schmaltz great development to a 2nd line center. Then sign Hayden, Hartman, Hinostroza and Duclair all to 2-year bridge deals. Combined their cap hits, the increase would be about 3 millions to current cap hits. These new contracts and Trouba's rise will eat about 6,7 millions but Hawks have cap space. Considering next season's bonus overage will be about 2M lower, Hawks's reamining cap space would be about 11,2 M. They could easily land a top4 dman and a very good thirdline center via trade or as UFA. I think this team could be a real contender again. And Imagine what would they get in draft. A guy like Quinn Hughes would be a future top pairing D man, while Ian Mitchell, Tim Soderlund and others keep developing for future important pieces.
