Rick Nash acquired by the Anaheim Ducks for their 2018 first and second round picks.

Michael Grabner acquired by the San Jose Sharks for their 2018 first rounder and a 2019 3rd rounder

2018 Draft -

Rangers use the Anaheim and San Jose picks to trade into the Top 10 and select CZE LW/C Filip Zadina from Halifax (QMJHL)

With their on first round pick, the Rangers select Joel Farabee, LW from the USNTDP

2018 Season -
Alain Vigneault is fired after a first round exit in the 2017 playoffs at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Sheldon Keefe is hired.

JT Miller is given an qualifying offer and contract negotiations between the Rangers and Miller sputter. As a result, Miller is dealt for a package of picks and prospects.
