Jake speculation

The Giroux trade was a 1st (top ten protected i believe) a 3rd and owen tippett

So i would assume they'd want a young forward (preferably a 1st round pick) around 21 or 22 with NHL experience.

Tippett had about 90ish games in two years with FLA before getting traded.

They won't trade him in the Metro unless the deal is too good to pass up.

FLA and TBL don't have a 1st rounder until 2026 and their prospect pool is about as bad as pens (Florida does have Lundell but can't see them moving him)

BOS made a lot of moves last year at the TDL only to get bounced, so i'm curious to see if they'd be as aggressive this year, sort of think they wouldn't.

TOR/DAL/COL to me all have stronger needs than a winger (TOR needs Defense/Goalie, COL needs Center help, DAL probably would want to beef up the blue line, their LW is stacked already)

EDM has been the popular landing spot lately but I don't think they have the assets personally (Hollaway hasn't produced much in the league for the time he's been given)

VGK... idk maybe Brisson but not sure

VAN doesn't have the cap or a 24 1st anymore, would want Hoglander probably but i'd say they're out of the Jake possibilities with the Lindholm trade.

This leaves LAK and WPG to me as best spots.

I'm sure they wouldn't move Turcotte, but that'd be the ask if i'm Dubas.

WPG i'd ask for Cole Perfetti

Here is a comp to the Giroux trade:

EDM’s 1st, 3rd, and Holloway.

Keep in mind, Guentzel is without question a better player than Giroux was at the time. Also, a 50% retained Guentzel will make less than a 50% retained Giroux did at the time. Guentzel should fetch more.

We shall see.

If they get Holloway in return i think it's an L for the penguins.

As I said above if i'm dubas i'm aiming for Perfetti in WPG or Turcotte in LA.

I actually don't think there are many contenders that would go for Jake.
