Nuge signed at a discount to play with McDavid for the rest of his career. Doubt he waives his nmc with so many years left. I'm also really high on Salomonsson, not sure I want to give up on him.

In addition to what the others have said about the oilers not wanting this trade, I'm not sure it really makes the Jets better either.

Vilardi can probably give you as good or better at 2C as RNH, and I don't see the Jets trading their only halfway decent Right shot Defence prospect.

Not sure about Vilardi as I've only seen him play wing, but I'm high on Perfetti being a 2c next year. I would be very surprised if the Jets don't get at least one 2c out of Perfetti, Vilardi, McGroarty, and Lambert.

For this year I think it'll end up being a "who's playing well" situation. I'm just glad the Jets finally have the depth to pull it off.

That's kind of where i'm at as well. Jets will get a quality 1b/2C centre out of those four options. I think we still need to bring in a difference maker for this year and next at 2C if this team has a hope of doing anything in the playoffs. Bring in someone as either a rental or with two years left on their deal to try and swing for it while the Mcgroarties and the Lamberts of the world mature into the NHL. As much as I love Perfetti, I think he has a chance to be a top-10 LW or top-10 RW in the league, but will always be a middling centre due to his size. I really want to see what Vilardi looks like between Ehlers and Perfetti and to see if he can be the Jets' 1b of the future. If he comes in and looks like a legit Centre, then that completely changes what I think the Jets should do at the deadline.
