Sharks will need to get his cap down to 8-8.5m just to get rid of his contract for next to nothing. Capitals don’t consider this. Why would they. EK has been trash before this year. Carlson is a comparable or even a slightly downgrade for much cheaper and less term. Sharks fans are going to be disappointed if you think you’re getting a haul for him. Unless you take on a massive cap dump AND retain salary

I didn’t say it explicitly but I also wouldn’t make this move from the caps perspective. It would probably turn out awful for us.
