I agree the trade is off but this analysis is probably 10X worse

nope, spot on. Home fans try to throw in all the pieces they don't want anymore and want to acquire a teams best players for that. Stop overrating your players.

Why blow up a team that wins championships by taking other teams name players?

Barrie ... We have Letang and Schultz and only ONE of those 2 are going to see 1st PP because we have Malkin. It wouldn't make sense to trade for Barrie at all.

Duchese ... Hornqvist out scores him. Hagelin might out score him.

Maatta ... If you want to move on from him, bet another Cole to replace him ... and Cole might be gone next year, but altelast you got Over $20m down the right side of the defense.

Trading Jarry would be silly. It opens another need. You fill spots with youth who might not be able to fill spots and move you're 4th line up because you have too. So you down grade a TON to get 2 players you don't need. You don't win championships by being top heavy. You become Washington ... or Pittsburgh prior to Rutherford, which is to say a weak play off team with names.
