Schmaltz - Adding Schmaltz at a retained cap hit for 3 years after this is worth paying an extreme price, although it is very likely the Coyotes would be against retaining that much, so maybe you can find another rebuilding team willing to retain a portion of it (1.5milx4years) for a 1st or whatever it would cost, although it's very hard to judge the price for 4 years of retention on a good player.
Bjugstad - I like Meyers as the Avs 4C, but it pushes him to an extra forward, which could be very helpful especially if Helm is unable to return from injury.
Jensen - With Erik Johnson being hurt, adding another top 6 defender is very important, and with the Capitals moving to be sellers, Jensen would be a great addition, although a 2nd and 3rd could be too little to get him, so maybe adding a prospect like Sampo Ranta would be necessary.
Overall this allows the Avs to not need to worry about adding top end forwards or defencemen for next season, with the only concern being retaining Byram, Newhook in the offseason, and finding cheap depth, although that is easy to do at the deadline, which is what the lower picks coming back in the deals can be very useful for. Keeping Foudy is also a bit more valuable to the team than Olausson, as while Olausson has the higher ceiling, Foudy is the much better fit for the Avalanche depth.
