The team is starting to gain some momentum now. guys are getting comfortable.
Hagel had a hell of a game and with the duality he's showed from last playoffs and this season. I have much less worry about this team than i did at the start of the season.
He has shown that hes focused and capable of switching gears depending on what Cooper wants from him. Last year he was arguably the best defensive forward for us in the playoffs. He wasnt counted on doing hardly anything offensive. That wasnt his role last ploffs. This year his role is to be a puck retriever for Point and Kuch. As he did in Chicago, playing with elite players shows how talented he really is. He isnt the greatest puck handler in the world, not on Point and Kuchs level, but his vision and IQ are what elevates his offensive game. I think he can hit 60 points this year if that line stays together and is healthy. thats only my lowball guess.
Ive really liked the lines, and i think they stay this way for a while.
When Cirelli comes back, he likely slots into 3C, Perry moves back down to the 4RW, and Koepke gets scratched.
A lot to like offensively as of late.
Defensively is a different story. While McDonaugh and Rutta were a huge part of this teams defensive play, I would like to see them improve in their own end. Too many easy goals that are uncharacteristic of them. I get it, its November, but still. Moving forward, its in the D zone first.
Myers and Fluery both had excellent games last night. The level of confidence that both of them played with when they finally started to play well, is something i havent really seen a lot of from Cal Foote. Ive been harsh on Myers through his first 8 or so games, but last night reminded me of his up side.
Nashville game should be a good one as they have gotten their game together, but two games against Boston in a week will give a good taste of playoff time. Much like the game against Dallas and Carolina did.
Myers what last night he had a goal yeah but play well? ?? That's generous.
did you watch the game? He played solid in both ends of the ice. He made some great defensive plays in addition to his goal and joining the rush. Was he Hedman? no but that was his best game of the season by a mile.

I was about to ask you that question and yes I did twice. He also had 2 or 3 really what the F***you thinking moments. I agree it was his best game but that isn't a high bar.

really? you watched the game twice lol? relax, im not coming at you, im just saying. He clearly had his best game last night and yes, while he does have his moments of questionable decisions, so does sergachev and foote. His upside was very apparent last night. Obviously he needs improvement with his timing and IQ. if you thought he didnt play well, then i dont understand what you are expecting from him, and or watching when you were watching the game. twice.
