be better to keep Phaneuf and the 1st rounder in 2018. vanek bad idea and he would ask for more, better to try and make a trade involving ceci to get landescog, dzingel in a C/RW not a LW. Stone signing is good if he would accept that ammount

Dzingel can play both wings as well as C. I believe trading Phaneuf was necessary in order to move forward as a team. His salary of $7m and Bobby Ryan's contract of $7+m are concerns that OTT needs to address very soon as they will need to sign key players (Karlsson, Stone, Turris...). The 1st round pick will likely not be a top pick and is expendable as OTT has some decent prospects and a relatively young team. As for Vanek I agree that he may ask for more/maybe not the best fit. I decided that Shane Doan may be a better option. OTT needs some extra forwards just in case of MacArthur or someone else being hurt and need someone who can score 15-20g.
