In this followup ACGM to Pt 1 (https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/623954), assume the following:
- After trades made in 22/23, Sharks have $23M in open cap pre-buyouts.
- Vlasic accepts the retirement offer and will get his full $21M plus interest after a 10 year deferral.
- In typical Sharks fashion, they lose the draft lottery... but get the #2 pick after their season of losing.
- Holtz, Eklund, and Bordeleau all enjoy success in AHL and get full-time call ups to the NHL level.
- Sharks find a playoff team that needs center depth and, after personal discussions with Couture, send him with salary retained.
The following UFAs are signed:
- Bertuzzi: He's emerged as a sharp Top 6 winger who can score for fun. Him being unvaccinated means he can't play in Canada, but this will help the Sharks save a lot on cap hit which will come in handy once Bordeleau and Eklund are out of contract.
- Bunting: Been a fan of his game since his days in Arizona and he could be getting a Mikheyev contract if he keeps it up in Toronto. Be a good complement for Bordeleau as well.
