    Cannot see the Preds parting with Ekholm and his contract so that would be a long shot. Also Caps are in up against the cap with new contracts to bring in so Gorges would not fit on that team especially 3.9 million as their 7th or 8th D.

    washington is losing alzner, shattenkirk and possibly a defensemen in the expansion draft.

    I noted it might be a longshot, hence the overpay. I picked ekholm over ellis because sabres dont have a top pairing LHD
