Minnesota will trade Fiala this offseason, no doubt about it. Fiala could have gotten a huge return but Guerin kinda messed that up by badmouthing him. This return isn't bad though; Wild get a future 1st round pick and Zacha who would be Fiala's short term replacement. They also unload Talbot to clear cap space for a center with Fleury as their starter next year (assuming).

No thanks. If it does come down to the only offers being a player and protected 2023 1st, I’d rather see what prospect Ottawa is willing to offer and keep Talbot (or trade him elsewhere for actual value). Zacha only seemed to play well strapped to the wing of a quality centerman like Hischier, which is a bit of a question mark for the Wild. Not to mention he’ll need to get paid in just a year. It’s fine to think comments from Guerin may hurt his trade value, but you gotta keep in mind New Jersey isn’t the only team we’re willing to do business with. Grieg + protected 2023 1st for just Fiala sounds much better than what you’ve proposed here.
