In my opinion that's too much for Raantta. But at least you didn't buy out any D-Men.

Raanta is more or less a expansion draft casualty, No way is Raanta worth both Lehtonen and Honka plus picks get real here.

Let's get real here? Raanta is putting up better numbers than most goaltenders. He can be a starter in this league for sure.

get rid of the picks, throw in staal with retaining 2.2 (so his cap hit is only 3.5) and MAYBE... MAYBE this deal will work. probably have to throw in a 4th/5th from the rangers as well. dallas has weak defense and they wont give up honka for basically nothing. they have strength on the right side already with klingberg but they'll need a return for the left side which the rangers have plenty of.

personally i'll also take niemi over lehtonen because our allaire will be able to do wonders with any goalie he gets- i think niemi has bigger upside as a backup

i think dallas is an intriguing trade partner for rangers because they have a goalie problem and the rangers have a rhd problem.. they can both help out while getting rid of poor contracts (staal and niemi)

I agree, Raantta has been playing great, but i still think that Honka is a great prospect and i think it seems like a little too much for him, but that's just me.
