This is what I would like to happen. Quick outlook on what I did.
Landeskog - Sign him for his 7,750,000 AND CLAIM HIM AS 1C taking pressure off Mika to be 1C as Landeskog can come in and help lead the team as we have not had a real captain since McDonaugh. (EICHEL IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME)
Tyson Barrie - THOUGH he is not a great RD option, you can get him for a quick possible 3 year contract of a lower 4mil and he can come in and run PP2 taking the pressure off Trouba (who has struggled to be honest and let him focus on 5v5). Again, it is super hypothetical as this will most likely not happen, but its a shot in the dark to help the right side and have a bit of an older guy come in to help the kids and again relieve pressure off Trouba as we start bringing in the younger guys to play their games.
Mike Reilly - Reliable Dman, plays TOUGH (solving the assinign issue we have with playing tough) and will help out the left side. Probably not paying him 2.5mil, but he can also help the PK and defending in their own zone.
Igor - Sign him to a 2-3 bridge and then give him the old "We promise to pay you, just not yet type of deal". He will get 5-7mil after the 2-3 years for longer term.
Chytll - Sign him to a 1.75mil (min) - 2.5mil (MAX) deal for 3 years as a bridge deal and hopefully he can develop into something more than what he is. If he doesn't then it can be an easy dump off to another team rather than paying this guy now and not being able to move him if he doesn't start to pan out.
Let me know what you think. I know its not great, but I wanted to cater to the CENTER POSITION that we DIRELY need and DON'T want to pay 10mil + prospects + draft picks for ****ing EICHEL. I DO NOT WANT THAT as it will cripple them later on especially with his term left. Also, I wanted to address the PP2 (Tyson Barrie) issue on the QB side along with the tough grit type of defensive defenseman that plays well in the DZone.
I doubt that any of this will happen, but it is something that I think will help and possibly make this a playoff team. Strome is a 3c in my eyes. Mika is not a 1c and Landeskog is 100%/has been a 1c which will solve **** down the middle. I think this is a good roster, but term and salary is probably off as IDK what these players want for either of them.
Honestly, in my opinion, I AM TIRED of DOLAN, he sucks as an owner and legit just needs to go. What Gorton did to this team was awesome and we are 2-3 years (with what we had on the roster/who was coming up) to be a contending team, but the MONEY DRIVEN ASSHOLE couldn't wait for that, so this is in my opinion and my eyes how it can be solved to create a team that can possibly contend for a playoff spot. I mean, the flyers have made some serious moves and for the Rangers to get any better and become a contender, things like this and moves/offers probably need to be done as we will not be a playoff team with the current roster (minus my changes).
Landeskog is not a C, and Lundkvist does exactly what Barrie does on an ELC
He can play any wing, Legit forgot that he wasn't a center lol. I agree, but he can also help the right side as we are young there. Also, Nils is probably a year or two out from being able to do that. He will play in the minors and get his 9 games in the NHL so we need a void for that which Barrie can do and is also proven that he can. Nils yes is great, but until he is NHL ready, this is what I did to solve that right side since Nils is also on the left side.

Hes been NHL ready for over a year, he would have signed and likely been on the team from the day 1 this past season had covid not hit, he said with all the uncertainty and chaos he preferred staying at home for another year and it resulted in another incredible year for him, don't be suprised if Nils gets 30-35 point easy next season
