I believe the pens were very close last year, despite the 1st round loss. most people pin the blame on jarry, but i think the D was out muscled when the playoffs came, and that was the driving force behind Jarry's implosion. This is why a big move to get a true #2 is needed to balance out the top 4, and give the pens some size and muscle on D. I think moving Jarry is shortsighted, he is talented and physically gifted like MAF, and will bounce back like MAF did after his playoff woes. Raanta gives you a 1b who has flourished in that role, and will push Jarry. Blueger and Zar are going to have to take discounts after the pens acquire OEL, and this will be the pens last run. They will have elevated roles while malkin is out, and a chance to cash for next season.
