Marner is a top 5 point scorer, Dvorak had 31p 56 games this season...even a 1st and 4th don't make up for that discrepancy. I doubt Zach signs for less than 5, although you never know with hometown + flat cap

I understand that but this is also a year where clearing cap is very valuable. Moving marner in this scenario is key to acquiring Dougie or another top end Dman. And Arizona won't be willing to give up too many picks this year so I think this is fair.

Im fine with giving him 7 but not an 8 by 8. I don't think Arizona is willing to give up picks either but I think only a 4th and a first with Dvorak for Marner is a no brainer for them. I think the leafs "lose" this trade but end up winning with the cleared cap space by signing Dougie
