UFA Addition - Galchenyuk on a one-year prove-it deal (so you can move him at the deadline if he produces)
RFA Additions - Just signing the teams own prospects
Trades - None
1st Line - Norris and Tkachuk reunite in the NHL and, alongside Batherson, create Ottawa's best line since Stone left
2nd Line - White and Brown get the chance to ride alongside German star in the making Timmy Stutzle. The line comes with speed and grit and gives Stutzle some veteran support to make the jump to the NHL.
3rd Line - Logan Brown has to prove he has it at the NHL level this season or the Sens need to re-assess whether they want him in the pipeline. Put him with a potentially high-scoring and hulking winger in Solokov and a young forward who needs to prove he's still got it in Galchenyuk, and Brown has a shot to produce in a shortened season.
Line 4 - Tierney gets a one year contract (or arbitration award) and holds down the fourth line centre spot for one more year (or splits it with Anismov). Paul and Balcers get a chance to solidify their spots as bottom-six forwards for the rebuilding Sens, with the chance to move up the line up when other forwards struggle.
1st pair - The dynamic Chabot plays alongside what the Sens hope is his Marc Methot. Gudbranson provides stability and defensive ability and lets Chabot go out and do his own thing offensively.
2nd pair - Wolanin has a year or two to prove he belongs on this blueline, and if he can't produce next to Brannstrom, he's not going to make it. This feels like a pairing that either kills it or lasts two games before they bail out and give them each a more responsible partner.
3rd Pair - Zaitsev makes too much to sit on the bench, but I suspect you see him rotate out with Jaros from time to time. Reilly is great on the PP, but otherwise needs sheltered minutes. This pair is going to bleed high quality chances and likely goals.
Goalies - Murray is obviously the 1A, but I expect Hogberg to be a solid 1B this season. If this team is going to crawl out of the basement this season, they will need out of this world goaltending.
