Chytil should be given a chance with Panarin. Also don’t want to play three young kids together on the 3rd line. Bonino is the perfect guy to play pivot there. This way, if Chytil takes off, great, and if he struggles they can go and chase a big time C next offseason will all the freed up cap or use someone like ADA as trade bait...

Chytil needs to show that he can win faceoffs before he can play on the top line because he will be matched up with the best faceoff guys in the league. When you only win 38% of your faceoffs, that means youre not getting possession time and the last thing I want is Panarin on the ice without the puck.

I’m not a huge believer in the importance of faceoffs, but you make a good point. However if that’s the hinging point, I’m sure he can work on it with the assistant coaches and make a priority of it this offseason. As we’ve, seen the kids a hard work and always does his best to progress. I think he deserves a shot and he’s a huge part of our future...

Faceoffs are such a rldiculously underappreciated part of the game. Do you want to win faceoffs and gain possession on the PP or lose it? Do you want to win faceoffs in your own zone on the PK or give it up? Faceoffs change the momentum of the game.
