I think Boston would rather take 2 late first future picks than your failing prospects. You already got us once with Joe Morrow and Matt Fraser. Rask had a terrible year and was 15th or so in GAA and SAVE% for goalies with 50+ games. That was way better than Lehtonen.

Appreciate the comments smile

I do agree Rask had a down year, and that a down year of Rask is better than what Lehtonen just turned in. No doubt. Having said that, if a trade was being considered, I'm betting it has to do with the cap and Vegas expansion. If there was a thought Subban would backup this year, as well as be the franchise goaltender of the future, than I could see why protecting him over Rask would be a conundrum for Boston. Rather than lose Rask for nothing, trading him away for a good pro to stand beside Subban during his struggles, as well as picking up assets with upside alongside that could be of huge value! Plus it would help Boston with the cap, as Rask's hit is pretty substantial. Val is only 21, already a good player, and his potential is as high as anyone's if/when he puts it all together. Oleksiak may have struggled so far, but he's also young (23) and could be a steal @ 6'7" 260 for years to come. Dallas likely doesn't want to part with either of them, but could be willing if a goaltender that could help them win now were available. Rask could be that guy. I'm sure there are different pieces that could enter into the equation, but that was a best guess of what the going rate could be if a deal between the two clubs could be agreed upon.

Either way - Looking forward to how the rosters will finalize in the next couple months!
