I would be alright with the top 9 starting like this and then adapting during the season. There is a lot of flexibility and almost every winger could play on any line.
The 4th line can change per game based on match ups. size against size, Skill against skill. Perlini did not impress in pre season, which is strange considering he should be battling for a roster spot.
I know it was only pre season but Nylander offensively looked strong and defensively it looks like he is trying to improve but he always seems to fish for the puck and never has great body position, when he loses the battle he ends up on the wrong side of the backcheck. It seems like something that can be corrected with the right coaches and leaders around him.
Not a lot of analyst are projecting Chicago to make the playoffs but I am optimistic about this season.
