Description

Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Devils line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

This is a truly exciting team with so much potential in Gusev and Hughes. I put them along side a veteran presence in Palmieri. Bottom six is so deep, with Zacha possibly as 4C, that says everything.

And what about the trio of RHDs? Tough for Carrick to break through, or will he play on the left side instead of Muller? If the goalie tandem holds up, Devils will challenge for a Wild Card.

I assume Pavel Zacha will sign, but I only used a one year term just for the purpose some predicting the roster. Or will he sign? Maybe he isn't too keen of the outlook of being a fourth-line center?

However Ty Smith will likely make the team and be on one of the defense pairs instead of Mueller.

and it seems the team is expecting Jesper Boqvist to make the roster as well.

These two players making the roster, which management expects them to do, would likely push Brett Seney and one of Mueller/Rooney to the AHL.

The lines are perfect, and the defense pairs in my opinion are very up in the air. My best guess would be they slide Vatanen to LHD and slide Smith to RHD. So likely rolling this,
Vatanen - Subban
Greene - Severson
Butcher - Smith

For me, I think Bratt ultimately gets pushed further down the the roster with the addition of Simmonds. And (on a personal note) I think Zacha would do well on Zajac's left with Coleman on the Right. This line sets our three best PK/defensive forwards on one line for a true shut down line. I do agree with your defensive swaps, though I'd like to see Mueller traded as he hasn't really panned out for us and my fetch a 3rd/4th round pick at this point, which can restore what we've traded.
