It looks like another year will pass by without the Habs spending to the cap. So there is no urgency to move Alzners contract. The cost in picks and prospects would be to sever at this point. This is more likely to happen after his signing bonus is paid next July 1st. For now he will be buried in Laval and will mentor the young D there.

Likewise Weise and Peca will most likely end up there as well. Unless they get claimed off waivers, probably more likely for Peca then Weise. If Peca could be moved for a draft pick of any kind, it would be a win for MB (Example Nick D.).

There has been much talk about another offer sheet and or trade for Laine. Time will tell but if MB's heart is set on getting the Finish sniper a trade will have to have significant compensation going back. I have mixed feelings on Laine, no question he can score, but what else can he do? Very one dimensional at this point of his career.

There are no UFA's remaining that significantly move the needle that I want to see signed to huge contracts with too much term. No Thanks!

Poehling will force managements hands and take the C3 position out of camp. This will allow CJ to move Domi back to left wing and add some offensive punch to the wing with KK. Another goal scoring right winger would be a nice add but the options are few. Laine will cost a lot( Too much IMO). Jesse Puljujarvi maybe a cheaper option, and has as many question marks as Laine.
