Hawks playoff contenders Anisimov to nyr

Ottawa, on the other hand, ought to be happy to have Artie's contract. 4.55 per and an actual cost of 2.5 each year? I'm shocked it didn't happen already today...

Anisimov for Pageau straight up. We get a defensive 3C that can win faceoffs, they get a guy who can put up points and get them to the floor. Let’s make it happen Stan.

If the thought is to pair Panarin with AA, not a terrible thought. With the Rangers cap and Trouba needing paper, it'd have to be $$ coming back, such as Shattenkirk or Namestinkov in looking at it on this site. I don't see a good fit at first glance.

I was wondering earlier today if Bowman is shopping AA in order to have a spot & cap space for Dzingel.

I'm sure Dorion & Melnyk would LOVE that ****, since his cap hit is 3.1 yet he's due to be paid 3.4... Then they take Artie at 4.55 and only pay him 2.5.

I think if someone printed out this AGM thread and handed it to Dorion, he'd be like "damn that's an idea I'd never come up with!" and be ringing up Bowman STAT!

But does having JGP help the Hawks now? Between Kampf and Carpenter, we've got two centermen who can do what JGP does for cheaper. Maybe less points, but would JGP be putting up that many points in a lower line C role with the Hawks? Maybe, maybe not, I don't know... Just not sure he's what the Hawks need to finish out the lineup...
