Description

It was my opinion that the Leafs never should have signed Nylander and should have traded his rights last fall when he was holding out.....they could have gotten Pesce + for him and their cap situation would be better. IMO when they signed Tavares they made a choice of where to spend their money......IMO the most important Leafs in particular order are Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Andersen and Rielly.

That is where the money should be.......guys like Kadri, Nylander, Kapanen are all good players but you can't keep everyone and have a balanced roster.

You need some Dmen to play along with all of your forwards and right now way too much of the cap is tied up in 6-7 forwards to have that balance.

WIN wouldn't trade Vesalainen for an extended Stone. So there is no way they trade him for Kadri.

Marleau is getting traded. TML is going to be stuck with him next year.

I completely disagree with the Nylander statement. I've also said it many times here that half the people who hate on his contract are going to be praising Dubas for it come next off-season.

I think the bigger issues at hand are, Marleau should have never been signed to a 3 year at that salary. Management new when all the ELC's would be up for renewal. Zaitsev should have never been signed either but that was Lou. Everyone is so quick to blame Dubas for things that are yet to happen and ignore that fact he was given two terrible contracts to work with while all his ELC's expire.

The last issue is people read into the media too much and believe everything it says. It's like google your symptoms for a cold and your result says you have cancer...
