Only if they give him a qualifying offer(3,250,000). They could negotiate a contract in the next couple days to sign him to a normal ufa deal. He said he would consider taking less to stay in WSH.

Thanks for clearing that up! I thought that was the case but I saw other people on here saying they couldn't offer him anything less than what they would qualify him for.

Yeah he is one of the few guys whose Qualifying offer is higher than what he would get on the open market imo.
